Scrap Pink Crop for the Cure 2012 Weekend Retreat



Friday, September 21 5:00 p.m. - Saturday, September 22, Midnight
Crop Fee:  $50.00

Make a difference by doing what you love!  Scrapbooking!  This is your chance to help in the fight against cancer.  Proceeds from crop fees will be donated to cancer research.

Here are the details about the weekend.  Space is limited, so sign up today.  Spots are already being reserved.

Friday, September 21
Crop officially begins at 5:00 p.m., but if you would like to come early, no problem.  Just let us know you are coming so we will have your table ready.
Dinner served at 7:00 p.m.

*Free snacks will be provided throughout the weekend and free drinks will come with meals. Additional soft drinks and bottled water will be available for 50 cents each.

Saturday, September 18
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
Make-n-Takes throughout the day.

Door prizes will be given throughout the crop.

Because space is limited, and we want to make sure we don't turn someone down and then end up with empty tables because someone doesn't show up,  we are asking that you pay your crop fee by Monday, Sepember  17th.  This way we will also know for sure what our numbers are when we plan for the meals.  No refunds will be given after Wednesday, September 19, but you can apply your crop fee to a future crop if you have to cancel.

Jen Starr to teach classes at Scraptopia

We welcome Jen Starr, who will be teaching classes at Scraptopia on Monday, September 24.


Jen Starr is a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor.  She was the 2007-2008 Design Team Coordinator for Ranger Industries and continues to teach and do private design work for them.  She enjoys being a Golden Ambassador for Tattered Angels and has recently designed the color palette for the 2012 Spring and Summer Limited Edition Glimmer Mist.  As a Mixed Media Artist with a fine art background there are many companies and products that inspire Jen and she is an endorsed educator and works closely with many of them such as Ten Second Studio, Canvas Corp, 7Gypsies, Stampers Anonymous, Faber Castell, Basic Grey and Prima, just to name a few..  Jen has designed several signature product lines and her projects have been featured in many publications in the US and Europe including the “Ink Essentials” book.

Life is Beautiful Gate Book $38

12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

In this class you will learn some creative mixed media techniques to help make your projects as beautiful as your life! We’ll be working with die cut elements from both Tim Holtz and Memory Box, Distress Inks (including the limited edition colors), Gesso, Crafter’s Workshop Templates from the fabulous Dyan Reavely and some of my favorite Glimmer Mist colors in this year’s Spring/Summer Limited editions that I designed for Tattered Angels...plus many more fun things will be incorporated throughout the book. This is an 8x9” chipboard gate book with flipping and folding interactive pages inside...SO much fun!! Focus will be on inky techniques and book construction.

**Please bring to class: scoring tool for folds, a heat gun if you have one, strong adhesive such as Glossy Accents or red tape, scissors, roll of paper towels

**Please NOTE: title is not included so you will be able to make it any theme you want.


Ink Bootcamp ($50)

5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.














This workshop will give you a basic training on a variety of different types of inks and embossing powders. You'll learn what they are, what they do, what surfaces they work best on and how to choose the right ink for your projects. Working mainly with Ranger product lines you'll explore the differences between inks such as dye, pigment, alcohol, archival, Distress, Colorwash, and more. We will make a technique reference book with 6x6" mini-layouts/card fronts with instructions for each page and type of inks used. This class will give you the knowledge to use inks properly and to their full potential! **Please bring to class: heat gun if you have one, variety of adhesives, acrylic block,scissors, pencil and paint brush

Wall Hanging Class

Here is a picture of the wall hanging that we will be making in our next class on Saturday, June 16 from 1-3 p.m. We have enough kits put together for 8 people, so sign up as soon as you can if you'd like to make it. You can sign up by calling the store, 310-9787.  The class is $20.00.
