Tools needed:
Scissors,  Trimmer,  adhesive - including wet or a glue stick for the chipboard and a Hole Punch (i.e. Crop-a-dile) and distressing Ink.    Craft knife,  cutting mat,  ruler are optional for covering the chipboard album.

SPECIAL TOOLS NEEDED!
POKER/Paper Piecer (we need some kind of poking device.  this helps to make the holes in the paper.  We do not want them too big.
Adhesive.   Red line tape or Score tape.  We need this for the spine.  Using Tape, keeps the book very clean.

(You can pick up most of these tools/supplies at the store if you don't already have them.)

Mosaic Parties

Scraptopia is adding Mosaics to our party choices!  Mosaics are fun and unique projects that you can take home the day of the party with a bag of grout,  or leave them for us to grout for you.   Mosaic is the process of applying pieces of glass (or other materials) to a surface.  We use tumbled glass for our children's projects, but care should always be used in handling glass.  Because of this, we are offering Mosaic parties for children ages 8+.  (If children younger than 8 will be in attendance, we can offer foam mosaics with a pattern for them to complete.)

How it works:

1.  Decide on a date and time.

2.  Decide on number of guests.

3.  Call with your Credit Card or come by Scraptopia to reserve the workroom for your party. $30 Room Fee for a 2 hour party.

4.  Choose your shape.  We have a large variety of surfaces on which to mosaic.  Projects start at $10/child.

The fine print:
  • Room fee is non-refundable, but it may be used towards rescheduling a party in the event you need to cancel.
  • It is recommended that there be at least one adult helper per 5 children under 12.
  • Grouting fee is $2.50/project if you would like to leave the projects for us to grout.

Mosaic on the Crafter's Buffet

Our Crafter's Buffet consists of projects that you can come in the store and complete on your own with little or no instruction.  We are making Mosaic projects available for individuals (11 yrs+)  to complete with a short tutorial from our staff.  Drop by the store to see all the choices offered.

Wood Cross Class Picture Collages

We had lots of fun in our Wood Cross classes and I wanted to share some of the photos of all the pretty crosses that were created.  This was one of our most popular classes last quarter, so we had to repeat it 3 times!  From the looks of our last waiting list, we will probably have to do it at least one more time in the future!  Aren't their paper choices amazing? Just love all the different looks!

Glassine Bag and Card

You may have seen these transparent glassine bags and wondered what you can do with them.  Here is a bag, embellished on the outside with a doily, stamped and distressed tag, washi tape, and crinkled seam binding.  A handmade card is tucked inside.  So shabby chic!  We have several different sizes of the bags available in the store.  Wouldn't these be great for Easter or Mother's Day??

New Crafter's Buffet Items Added

Here are a couple of new items that we have added to our Crafter's Buffet.  We have everything available in the store for you to make these items.  Come by and work on them in our workroom, or we can put the kit together for you to take home.

Wood Cross Class

We had a great group who joined us to make these beautiful wood crosses in our most recent class. Everyone's turned out great, and the paper combinations were really pretty.  Thanks to everyone who attended!  We will be doing a repeat of this class in April since we had a waiting list.  Check back here on the blog for the April schedule.
